Top seeds Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan won their 108th ATP World Tour team title on Sunday at the Citi Open after beating reigning French Open champions Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo 6-4, 6-2 to clinch the ATP World Tour 500-level crown played in Washington, D.C.
Wrapping the match in just under an hour, the Bryan brothers did not face a single break point in the match. They also broke their opponent’s serve thrice to not let them settle at any time in the match. It was the Bryans sixth ATP World Tour doubles final in 2015 and their 160th overall (now 108-52).
“I think this tournament is really valuable for our confidence, our momentum going into this hard-court summer,” said Bob. “It was nice to get some revenge on a couple of teams we lost to over in Europe.
That will help us going into these next three big tournaments and crescendos at the US Open in New York. “It’s really special, any title, but especially D.C., where there’s so much history.” ALSO READ Rafael Nadal not thinking about retirement! .
