Swiss Stan Wawrinka will play the Marseille Open, which will be held from 20th to 26th February 2018. This will be his fourth appearance in the tournament after 2016, 2015 and 2008. Wawrinka, who ended his 2017 season after suffering a knee injury at Wimbledon, will start the new season at the Abu Dhabi exhibition.
In February he is likely to play in Dubai as well. Apart from the three-time Major champion, Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will return to defend his title in Marseille. Tsonga has also won in Marseille twice before, in 2003 and 2009, and had also reached the final of the 2014 edition.
Lucas Pouille, who had lost to Tsonga in 2017 final, has also confirmed his participation. Lastly, Belgian David Goffin, who is competing this week at the ATP Finals in London, will make his fifth appearance in Marseille, where he reached the quarter-finals in 2016.
