Philipp Petzschner gave a strong start beating 6-4, 6-2 Igor Andreev yesterday. "My tactic worked well, particularly in the first set," stated Petzschner. "In the second [set] I thought too much, but ultimately was lucky to win.

The highest ranked player in the tournament - Robin Soderling (Sweden) celebrated yesterday his 300th win, defeating 6-7, 7-6, 6-3 Andrey Golubev (Kazakhstan).
