Andy Murray won't lose motivation to perform after achieving the goal of becoming number one in the world, thinks Miles Maclagan. The British tennis player became the world no.

1 on the seventh of November, 2016. He overtook the top spot from Novak Djokovic - who was on top of the rankings for more than two years. Maclagan coached the 29-year-old Briton between 2007-2010.

''I don't see that affecting Andy too much because they are so used to dealing with expectation from everyone around them,'' Maclagan told Eurosport, as quoted by The Evening Times.

''You hear many greats saying when they have a great year and become No 1, the fire goes out a little bit. But I don't see that happening with Andy, he still seems to have a lot of fire left.'' With 12,560 points on board, Murray leads this week's ATP Rankings list.

Djokovic, who is ranked at number two in the world, has 11,780 points to his name. Also read: ATP DOUBLES: Thanasi Kokkinakis and Jordan Thompson dream run in Brisbane ends with the title .
