Novak Djokovic was in Paris in the last few days for several reasons. The Serbian player visited the Paris Masters on Sunday to meet the tournament director Guy Forget and the whole crew, but he also attended an ATP Player Council meeting, of which he is the President.
According to Daily Mail, the meeting lasted seven hours. The 12-time Grand Slam champion could have easily refused to attend it as he is not competing on the ATP Tour until the end of the year and he doesn't live in Paris but in Monte Carlo, but he wanted to attend it because he really cares about tennis.
The topics that were discussed during the meeting are unknown. Post the meeting, on Monday Djokovic flew to the United States to consult a doctor for his elbow and also watched an NBA Game. Andy Murray, another Council member, who has also been sidelined for the year with injury didn't attend the meeting because his wife Kim is closer to her due date.
Murray had announced the news of his wife's pregnancy during Wimbledon, and it seems that Kim was a few months along at the time of his announcement. Spanish and Barcelona footballer Gerard Pique is also attending the Paris Masters this week.
Pique is one of the investors of the new Tennis World Cup that is expected to make a return to the tennis calendar in January 2019. ALSO READ: Novak Djokovic: 'It's a new chapter of my life, an ultimate challenge' .
