According to a latest development involving Australian tennis, Nick Kyrgios has opted to ask Lleyton Hewitt to coach him during the hard court US Open series. Kyrgios has been without a coach since before Wimbledon and recently has been at the facing end of a lot negative criticism following his antics during the Davis Cup.
Hewitt has agreed to take on the mentoring role which according to Kyrgios’s mom is a positive move for her son. As she expects the Australian tennis legend to help her son get his career into accord. “He will listen to Lleyton because he knows what he's talking about, he's been at the top and been world No.1,' Ms Kyrgios said.What Nick doesn't like is when people who haven't been in that situation give him advice, but he'll listen to someone like Lleyton.” “Lleyton's been through everything that Nick is going through.
We touched base on it after Davis Cup because we knew Nick wasn't in a good head space, he just wasn't dealing well with the negative feedback.” The pair will also be taking part in the Doubles event in Montreal alongside Kyrgios returning to singles action as he prepares to face Fernando Verdasco.
