2016 Australian Junior Championship is coming to its conclusion, with only the final match left to be played. In it, the 4th seed Kody Pearson will battle against Scott Jones, after they both scored easy wins in the semi-final. Besides the prestige title, the winner will have a chance to compete at next week's Australian Open 2017 Play-off, and maybe earn a place in the Australian Open main draw.
Pearson defeated Lucas Vuradin 6-1 6-4 in an hour and 30 minutes, dominating in the opening set and never looking back, advancing to his biggest final so far. Scott Jones got a wild card to enter this event and he used it brilliantly, reaching the final without a lost match.
In the semis, Jones toppled the 5th seed Adam Walton 6-4 6-2, reaching the title match in his final junior event in a career, being born in 1998. Semi-final results: Kody Pearson (1999) vs Lucas Vuradin (1999) 6-1 6-4 [1:30]
