Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championship is one of the oldest tennis tournaments in the USA, held in La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club - San Diego, for the 127th time! The Pacific Coast Men’s Doubles Championship features top collegiate tennis players from around the country, and also a solid field of independent competitors like junior players, coaches, former players and teaching professionals.
In the dual-seeded draw with 128 teams, there are 16 seeds from both College tennis and from the indipendent players, in a nice and interesting mixture. First seeds Arjun Kadhe/Julian Cash from Oklahoma State Cowboy, a 15th best team in the country, had a very good run before the quarter-final, but the toughest matches were just starting.
In a great battle of two solid pairs, they've prevailed over Max Cressy/Martin Redlicki 7-6 4-6 7-5 to reach the last 8, where they face Tyler Browne/JT Nishimura from California. This time, it was much easier, logging 6-3 6-3 victory to reach the big final.
Stanford's duo of Thomas Fawcett/Maciek Romanwicz stood between them and the title. In a toe-to-toe first set, Kadhe and Cash won the tie break, and the second set by 6-4, to lift the trophy. Thus, Cowboys have won it for the second year running, since Nicolai Ferrigno/Lucas Gerch were the best 12 months ago.
