Div I / M: Northern Arizona Lumberjacks beat Northern Colorado Bears 5-2

Regular season duties in the Big Sky Conference are all over for Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, who defeated Northern Colorado Bears 5-2, concluding the regular Conference play with a 10-1 score. Sebastian Eguez/Felix Schumann beat Hayden Cramer/Alex Vakouftsis 6-4 on court 2 and Tim Handel/Ruben Montano clinched the first point for the Lumberjacks, toppling Kyle Pease/Connor Finerty 6-4 on the main court.

Handel and Montano are undefeated this spring, with a 9-0 score in the Conference matches and 12-0 overall. Thomas Fisher/David Nguyen wrapped up a doubles sweep for Northern Arizona, edging Agustin Lombardi/Alex Clerihew 7-5 on court 3 to gather all the momentum before the singles action.

The Lumberjacks won all first sets on singles courts and they didn't have too many troubles bringing the matches home to wrap up an overall win. Thomas Fisher took down Alex Clerihew 6-2 6-1 on court 6, followed by Ruben Montano who tops Ruben Montano 6-4 6-1 on court 4 to send Northern Arizona 3-0 in front.

Tim Handel delivered the deciding 4th point on the main court, he bested Connor Finerty 7-5 6-2, taking all the importance out from the remaining encounters that were still on. The other matches went to the wire and it was Kyle Pease who put the Bears on the scoreboard, beating Sebastian Eguez 5-7 6-2 10-4, but David Nguyen made sure to move Northern Arizona 5-1 up, prevailing 7-5 3-6 10-3 against Agustin Lombardi on court 5.

Alex Vakouftsis scored the final win of the day, he came from behind to notch a 3-6 6-3 6-3 triumph over Felix Schumann on court 3, bringing the second point for Northern Colorado for the final 5-2 result.
