Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced that Oklahoma State men's coach Jay Udwadia is named Central Region Coach of the Year, which is his second regional honor of this kind. Namely, back in 2012, Udwadia earned the Northwest Regional Coach of the Year award, while leading Fresno State. This is the first regional honor for Oklahoma State since James Wadley received it in 2009 and it was more than deserved since this was by far the best Udwadia's season in his 5-year tenure at Oklahoma State.

Namely, the Cowboys were ranked 4th in the States in March, their best ranking ever, and they stayed in the Top 10 company for 11 consecutive weeks. Oklahoma State notched 11 wins over the ranked rivals in 2017, including a big 4-3 triumph over 3rd-ranked Baylor in April, which was their first Top 3 win since 2001! Jay Udwadia is currently on 93 wins at Oklahoma State, and that makes him the third most successful coach of the Cowboys.
