The worst time of Sara Errani

It has been a long time since Sara Errani played a Slam Final and completed the career Grand Slam in doubles along Roberta Vinci. Certainly a symbol of Italian women's tennis, with a winning career behind, Errani is going through the worst period of her sporting life.

In the last four years she has won only two titles, and her performances have drastically dropped to very low levels. Her decline has been constant and up to now irreversible. A technical, physical and mental decline. There is no longer the hustle of a time.

Now, like a lightning strike, has come the disqualification for doping. Errani defended herself: "I have a clean conscience. I have been sanctioned for involuntary ingestion of a substance that has no beneficial effects on performance on a female tennis player." Obviously justifications are useless now.

Errani failed a doping test. And that means that in any case, the doubts will remain. And many. As in all the previous cases involving other tennis players in the past. Will the Italian be able to turn the anger of this situation into motivation, dedication, and concentration? Hard to say.

Errani, in the last few years, has been a tennis player with no fire inside and without the determination that characterized her career and her victories, which led her to reach great goals and incredible victories. We are confident that this episode will serve as a watershed moment: either she will return stronger than before or she will worsen her situation.

Marin Cilic is a positive example of a tennis player who has been able to turn all his frustration into motivation. The same did not happen for Maria Sharapova, until now.
In 2018 we will see Sara Errani react to this situation.
