WTA Birmingham, grass (19-25 June 2017) The 2015 champion Angelique Kerber leads the field in the British event, but Maria Sharapova may be the biggest attraction as she will be awarded with a wild card according to The Times.
Sharapova who won the title here in 2004 and 2005 and reached the final in 2007 and 2010. Among the top ten players, only of course Serena Williams and Svetlana Kuznetsova won't play. World No. 13 Madison Keys will try to defend her title conquered last year in the final against Barbora Strycova.
Also Elena Vesnina, Kristina Mladenovic and Coco Vandeweghe will play. The World No. 39 Alison Riske is the last player to enter directly in the main draw. Here below the full entry list:

In the second edition of the tournament under Toni Nadal's guide for the first time, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova leads the field. The Russian player, who won Rabat title last week, will bid to triumph for the 11th time at WTA level and for the first time on feass. There is also Kiki Bertens, who a few weeks before Mallorca will try to defend the semifinals reached last year at the Roland Garros, the defending champion Caroline Garcia and the finalist Anastasija Sevastova. Among the unseesed players there is Eugenie Bouchard, who this week came back to play a great tennis in Madrid beating Maria Sharapova and Angelique Kerber. At the moment Anett Kontaveit is the last player to enter in the entry list of the Spaniard event.
