Top seeds Jamie Murray and Martina Hingis are the 2017 Wimbledon mixed doubles champions. Murray and Hingis handed a straight sets defeat to defending champions Henri Kontinen and Heather Watson 6-4 6-4. Both pairs were tied at 3-3 in each set when Murray and Hingis went on claim the decisive breaks.
Murray and Hingis saved three break points in the 10th game of the second before converting their first match point. The match came to an after an hour and 10 minutes of play. Swiss Hingis is now a two-time Wimbledon and overall six-time Grand Slam mixed doubles champion.
British tennis player Murray, 31, now has two Major mixed doubles glories. The Brit and Serbia's Jelena Jankovic went all the way at The All England Club ten years ago to claim the title. Murray and Hingis were playing for the first time ever together at a mixed doubles event.
