The defending champion Timea Bacsinszky is already out. The Swiss player lost to the 17-year-old Catherine Bellis 6-7(3), 7-5, 7-5 after more than three hours. Bellis got her second career-win on clay at WTA Level.
In the third set she was up a break twice, she got broken back but on 6-5 converted a match point to advance into quarter-finals, where she will face Varvara Lepchenko, who defeated Yulia Putintseva 6-1 in the third set.
The first seeded player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova defeated her compatriot Ekaterina Makarova 6-2 7-5. After dominating the first set, in the second one Pavlyuchenkova was down 3-5, but then she won four games in a row.
In the quarter-finals she will face Lauren Davis, who lost only three games against Katerina Bondarenko. Daria Gavrilova lost three games too against Elise Mertens and will play against Sara Errani, who defeated Alison Riske 6-2 in the third set after two hours and a half.
Seventh win in a row for Francesca Schiavone. The Bogota' Champion beat Gabriela Dabrowski 6-4 6-4, she will face Tatjana Maria who defeated Yaroslava Shvedova in straights.
