ATP/WTA MADRID - SCHEDULE: 50th clash ever between Nadal and Djokovic

50th Clash in the history between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. The Serbian player leads head to head meetings 26-23, he won last seven matches against Nadal, who has not been beating Nole since 2014 Roland Garros, it means three years.

But now it seems this is the right time to break this negative streak, as Rafa played a very great tennis not only in this tournament but this year overall. He definitely has more confidence than Djokovic, but who showed some signs of improvements in his last match against Feliciano Lopez.

According to us, Rafa, who became the No. 1 in the ATP Race to London, is the favourite. In the second semifinal Dominic Thiem faces Pablo Cuevas, who is still looking to reach his first Masters 1000 semifinal after losing in Indian Wells and Monte Carlo at quarter-finals level.

The Austrian player, who had saved five match points to Dimitrov on Thursday, is down in the head to head meetings 0-1 (Cuevas won at the Roland Garros two years ago), but he is the favourite as he is playing very confident.

In the women's final Simona Halep will try to win the title for the second year in a row against Kristina Mladenovic, who beat the Romanian player thrice on four meetings, the last one in Indian Wells this year. The French player could be No.

1 in the WTA Race to Singapore if she wins the title, but it won't be easy against Halep who has been winning the last 11 matches played in Madrid.
