World No. 22 Gilles Muller still feels the effects of his stunning Wimbledon win over 15-time Grand Slam champion Rafa Nadal. The 34-year-old edged the Spaniard in the best match seen at The Championships this year 6-3 6-4 3-6 4-6 15-13.
It was Muller's second ever win over Nadal -- the previous one came at The All England Club as well. Back in 2005, the Luxembourgian defeated a 19-year-old Nadal in their second-round matchup. ''People recognize me because of [the Rafa] match.
You know, it is kind of tough because I have to leave that behind me now,'' Muller said. Muller, who is currently sitting at his career-high ranking, is experiencing his best season ever. The veteran captured his maiden ATP title at the beginning of the year in Sydney before he went all the way in Estoril to claim the main glory.
Playing his first tournament since Wimbledon, Muller lost in the BB&T Atlanta Open semi-final to fan-favorite John Isner. Also read: Bernard Tomic out of Washington .
