Laver Cup field is almost complete. Tomas Berdych was the last player to officially join Team Europe led by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Marin Cilic and Dominic Thiem in the event that will take place from 22nd to 24th September 2017 at the O2 Arena in Prague.
Berdych was the first of two captain Bjorn Borg's picks. 'Tomas signaled early he wanted to be part of this innovative new tournament and I’m delighted he will be joining the team,' Borg said.
'It shows the depth in our lineup when we can add a quality player who made last month’s Wimbledon semifinals as a captain’s pick.' Berdych playing Laver Cup is not surprising as he launched the event in Prague early this February with Federer.
'I’ve known some of my teammates for a very long time and have a lot of respect for all of them,' said Berdych. 'To play alongside them in an event like this will be a different experience and I can’t wait to be part of it.
To play in my home city of Prague in front of our amazing Czech fans just makes it even more special.' Milos Raonic, Jack Sock, John Isner, Sam Querrey and other two still unknown players will play for Team World led by John McEnroe.
