Paul Annacone, the former coach of Roger Federer and Pete Sampras believes that Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, who will return to the Tour in 2018, for the first time since Wimbledon 2017, can compete against Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. 'I would think so,' Annacone told Beyond the Baseline podcast.
'I don’t know how healthy Novak and Andy are, but when you start playing three out of five sets especially with their style of play, where they don’t get a lot of free points, they are working hard from day one, we are going to see how healthy they are early on.
And if they are healthy, they are great players. Greatness doesn’t just stop, especially at their age. They are not all of a sudden, not great anymore. There’s no reason why Djokovic and Murray can’t be at the top of the game with Federer and Nadal next year.' Djokovic will start the new season in Doha, while Murray will play in Brisbane.
