Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova both watched the "Battle of the Sexes" film, the story that recalls the epic match played between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in 1973.
Both had an interesting opinion on it. 'I watched it on the plane', the Swiss said during his press conference after the win over Jan-Lennard Struff. 'I enjoyed it. I thought it was a nice movie.
It's Hollywood. Like the Borg-McEnroe movie. Was exactly every situation like this? I don't think so. Same in the "Battle of the Sexes" movie. But as a spectator, as a guy that goes to the movies, sees this movie on the plane, it's powerful, it's moving.
It was great acting. The story with Billie Jean is a very interesting one. She's always been incredibly supportive of me. Of course, I thought it was nice the movie was done about her because it was important times in our sport at the time.' Sharapova said: 'Billie Jean invited me to the opening in LA.
I went to see it. I was in town during that time. I enjoyed it. I think it was actually the last movie that I saw in the theatres. Probably the only movie I have seen in theatres in the past year.' ALSO READ: Leonardo Mayer: 'Federer does unimaginable things, Nadal intimidates you' .
