Rising Karen Khachanov isn't ready yet to commit to playing in Marseille every year. The 21-year-old is having a strong week at this year's edition of ATP Marseille. The Russian demolished former top-10 player Tomas Berdych in the semi-finals 6-3 6-2.
Khachanov is set to clash against home-favorite Lucas Pouille in the final. The 47th-ranked Russian hasn't dropped a single set this week in Marseille as all of his four wins came in straight sets. Khachanov and No.
3 seed Pouille have no previous meetings. "I don't know...hopefully. I like this year's tournament," Khachanov said when asked if Marseille would be on his calendar every year if he wins this year's title.
Khachanov also acknowledged the fact that he is playing in Marseille for the third straight year. The Russian failed to make it past the Marseille qualifying in 2016 as he lost in the qualifying first round to German Mischa Zverev.
