The 11th year of Caen exhibition event in France ended with David Ferrer triumphing. The 35-year-old Spaniard player defeated Roberto Bautista Agut, 6-3 6-2, taking the match under control for most of the time.
Ferrer had beaten the home favorite player Benoit Paire, who replaced injured Richard Gasquet, in the semifinals in three sets and in the final he displayed a pretty good tennis level. Ferrer, who became the second non-French player to win Caen exhibition, after David Goffin in 2013.
He succeeds Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the Winners List. 'It was a tough match tonight, even if it doesn't seem like this by the result, but games were close. Winning Caen Open is great, I was pleased by the atmosphere.
