11 time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal will no longer be represented by the super sports management company IMG. Instead, Nadal's business interests will be managed by his own firm. This is the second major blow in the tennis world for IMG, which also lost Roger Federer as a client last year.
Fernando Soler, head of tennis at New York-based IMG told Bloomberg in an interview that Nadal wantedto set up his own company. Nadal made more than $25 million in endorsements off the court last year according to Forbes.
The new company will be manage dby Carlos Costa and his Nadal's father Sebastian, Nadal is making a comeback to the sport after an eight month injury lay off due to a knee injury. He returns at a low key ATP clay court event in Chile .
