Former teen prodigy Mirjana Lucic reached her first quarter-final in 12 years on the WTA tour with a 6-2, 6-2 win over former world no. 4 Jelena Dokic. Lucic, who struggled with an abusive father and depression while growing up, last reached this far in an event at the 1999 WImbledon Championships, the best result of her promising but turblulent career.
Also advancing to the quarter-finals of the WTA Strasbourg event were top seed Marion Bartoli, whose opponent Elena Baltacha withdrew due to a spine injury, and German second seed Andrea Petkovic. INTERNATIONAUX DE STRASBOURG
