ATP - Mardy Fish pulls out of Rome Masters

Tennis - American Mardy Fish has pulled out of the Rome Masters Series event. The former world no. 7 has continued to struggle with health issues since last year and also pulled out of this week's ATP Challenger event in the United States.

Fish lost in the first round of last week's challenger event in Savannah. Fish has played only two event since last year's US Open as deals with the aftermath of heart trouble that began last season. Fish said he had been suffering from anxiety and did not leave his house for many days late last year.

He also spoke about his fear of flying in the aftermath of his illness.
It is unclear when Fish will play next and if at all, he will come back to the tour. The Rome Masters takes place in May and is a key warm up event for the French Open .
