Her immaculate route this Saturday, with nine 'birdies' and without any failure, place the one born in Malaga 24 years ago, with three shots ahead of the French Agathe Sauzon, who is now second, after a third card with 65 ( -7).

Ana Peláez, a professional since 2021, and with a remarkable amateur career (six titles), where she came to be in 11th place in the world amateur golf ranking, entered the University of South Carolina in 2016, where she obtained two All- America as a member of the South Carolina Gamecocks women's golf team and capped off her college career with a selection to play in the 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup.

While still an amateur, she won the Santander Golf Tour Madrid in 2020, which is considered her first professional title. Now, also in Madrid, she is close to victory in the RACE with three rounds in which she has always ended up winning the par of the field (69 + 67 + 63).

And, furthermore, with a third card that is the Jarama-RACE record. The Finnish Tiia Koivisto, who had started the day as the leader, had to settle for par (72), falling to a shared sixth place, seven strokes from the head.

The good performance of the very young amateur from Madrid, Cayetana Fernández, who is only 16 years old, continues, occupying third place, four shots behind the leader after 68 this Saturday. Interestingly, she made her first bogey of her three rounds on the 13th hole.

She is still in contention for the title. Peláez was born in Málaga in 1998 and enjoyed an impressive amateur career, climbing to 11th spot in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
