The Italian Pro Tour returns to the fore with the Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon, scheduled from 25 to 27 May (with Pro-Am on Tuesday 24) at "La Pinetina Golf Club" in Appiano Gentile (Como). Third seasonal tournament of the national and international competition circuit of the FIG, the event - now in its eighth edition and dedicated to Giorgio Bordoni, federal coach who died in 2013 and creator of important successes of the national teams from 1997 to 2005 as Technical Manager of both the team male and female - is also included in the Alps Tour calendar, the third European circuit.

To contend for the title and a prize pool of 40,000 euros (with the first coin of 5,800) will be 144 players, including many Italians who aspire to play a leading role. There are already four successes for the Azzurri, who won consecutively from 2015 to 2018, in this competition.

While from 2015 to 2018 the tournament has always spoken Italian thanks to the statements of Andrea Perrino (2015), Stefano Pitoni (2016), Marco Crespi (2017) and Guido Migliozzi (2018). Formula of competition and prize money - The Memorial Giorgio Bordoni presented by Aon will be held over a distance of 54 holes, with a cut after 36 which will leave the first 40 finishers in the race and the tied for 40th place.

The course - La Pinetina Golf Club extends over seventy hectares of greenery immersed in the Pineta di Appiano Gentile and Tradate Park with its woods of Scots pine, birch, oak and chestnut trees. The field unfolds on very undulating terrain with different game situations, also offering enchanting panoramic views overlooking Monte Rosa, the Lombard Prealps and, on clear days, the Apennines.
