Marc Keller, important triumph in Switzerland

Giovanni Manzoni and Elisa Galli, both third, were among the protagonists of the Swiss International Amateur Championship, which took place at the Golf & Country Club Schönenberg (par 72), in Schönenberg, a fraction of Wädenswil in the Canton of Zurich in Switzerland, where they won by the Swiss Marc Keller and the French Ariane Klotz.

In the men's tournament Keller won with 274 (68 70 68 68, - 14) shots in front of compatriot Nicola Gerhardsen and Giovanni Manzoni (74 66 69 68), same 277 (-11) for both, but Swiss in second position for best score on the last 36 holes.

The blue, who finished second last year and winner in 2019, led a great race always in the high rankings against an opponent who conceded practically nothing, at the top from the first round in company and then alone. In fourth place with 279 (-9) the French Ylan Guerin Pozzalo and the Swiss Pedro Messerli.

Among the top ten also Leonardo Rigamonti, ninth with 284 (-4), happy with a good team performance with Massimiliano Campigli and Gianmarco Manfredi 14.i with 287 (-1) and with Matteo Cristoni and Riccardo Fantinelli 23.i with 290 (+2).

The team was accompanied by Federal Coach Alain Vergari. Alessio Scaramastra (152, +8), Andrea Zancolò (154, +10), Lodovico Gallavresi (154, +10), Dylan De Prosperis (164, +20) and Denis Dymov (178, +34), all participants in a personal capacity.

In the women's tournament domination of the French Ariane Klotz with 280 (74 67 65 74, -8) strokes, the only player under par, who preceded the Swiss Yana Beeli and Elisa Galli (70 73 72 73) both with the score of 288 (par ), but with the Italian, as happened to Manzoni, third because penalized by the worst score on the last 36 holes.

Galli was in the lead after a round and then stubbornly chased the transalpine but she knocked out her opponents with a decisive 65 (-7) in the third round. Giulia Scarcello, 14th with 301 (+13), and Alessia Fornara, who often plays on LET Access, 19th with 308 (+20) also took part in the race.

Schönenberg is a fraction of the Swiss municipality of Wädenswil in the canton of Zurich, in the district of Horgen. Since 2019 it has been part of the municipality of Wädenswil with Hütten.
