The best female golfers on the international scene have reached only one round since the conclusion of the British Open 2022. The British Major sees Ashleigh Buhai in command. The South African took off in the standings thanks to an exciting third round full of firm putts that yielded eight birdies.
The bogey at hole 18 certainly did not spoil Buhai's path, who flies at -14 (199 strokes), five lengths better than her most immediate pursuer.

In second position with -9 we find Hinako Shibuno. The Japanese, leader after the debut round, resumed the march by signing an excellent -5 of the day.
With her also the South Korean In Gee Chun, who precedes by two strokes the compatriot Inbee Park and the Swedish Madelene Sagstrom. Sixth position with a score of -5 for the Japanese Miyu Yamashita, and for the Australians Stephanie Kyriacou and Minjee Lee.
The number one in the world ranking places a -1 daily which allows her to stay within range of the podium. The Canadian Brooke M. Henderson, the Swedish Maja Stark, the Thai Atthaya Thitikul, the South Korean Sung Hyun Park, Hyo Joo Kim and Hye-Jin Choi closed the top ten with a score of -4.
Lydia Ko goes back. The New Zealander, number four in the world, signs a lap from -1 that raises her to -2 in 19th place. Same position for Irish Leona Maguire and American Marina Alex. Rose Zhang’s excellent tournament continues.
The American, still not turned pro, is 29th with a score of -1. Nothing to do for Jennifer Kupcho, who continues to quarrel with the par 71 course of Muirfield (Scotland, United Kingdom). For the number three in the world she is only a decent 53rd place.
Ashleigh Simon, born May 11, 1989 in Johannesburg, is a South African golfer playing on the Ladies European Tour. She won 2 tournaments of the Ladies European Tour; she won the Catalonia Ladies Masters in 2007 and the ISPS Handa Portugal Ladies Open in 2011.
