Greg Norman on the big golf star: There is no place for him right now

There is a lot of talk about the arrival of Cameron Smith on the LIV Golf tour, but it seems that it will not happen. LIV Golf CEO, Greg Norman, emphasized that it is now too late. The roster is maximized, but there will be a chance in the coming period.

"There will be more player announcements before [the FedEx Cup Playoffs]. But we’re set on the maximum amount of players. It’s interesting, we’re still getting calls from agents of top-40 players in the world wanting to join LIV but it’s too late now.

What it tells me though, is what we’re doing is very appealing to the world’s best players”. - Norman said, as quoted by mirror.co.uk A few days ago, rumors started about the arrival of Smith and Marc Leishman on the LIV Golf Tour.

Reactions and pressure on them immediately followed. However, both were aware of it. Cam Percy also confirmed yesterday that both will be part of LIV Golf. “Unfortunately, yeah, they’re gone,” Percy told RSN.

“The more and more you look into it, some people don’t care – some people have got a conscience and do care. They’re not the nicest people in the world. Do you just look past that and go, ‘oh well, I’m rich.

I don’t really care’. “It’s a tough one, it really is”.

Cameron Smith's reaction

Smith didn't want to reveal much in the Telegraph interview. His goal at the moment is to win the tournament.

"I just won the British Open, and you're asking about that. I think that's pretty.... Not that good. I don't know, mate. My team around me worries about all that stuff. I'm here to win golf tournaments. I have no comment to that. I’m here to play the FedExCup Playoffs, that’s been my focus for the last week and a half."
