Liz Young after the first Ladies European Tour title: I hope my daughter is watching
by SEAD DEDOVIC
Liz Young impressed with her game and deservedly won the first Ladies European Tour title. Her one-shot victory was impressive, and she will only have fond memories of the VP Bank Swiss Open. Young is overjoyed after the win.
This is the victory she worked hard for and her efforts paid off. It will be an additional motivation for Liz to continue at the same pace. Young showed that she can do a lot of things. Her self-confidence is at its peak and it could be an advantage for her.
"I can't believe it right now! I've been out here a while and haven't had the win yet, so to do it here in Switzerland is just fantastic," Young said for skysports. "I said I'd keep playing as long as I enjoy it and as long as I keep getting better - 14 years later we're here."
Liz Young and breakthrough; I'm really proud of myself
Although she was close to victory many times, Liz only now made a breakthrough.
She is proud of herself. Young did not forget her
daughter, who is her great support. "I hope my daughter is watching. I have been out here a while and never really been close to the win, but I've had some good results in strong field events." Rosie Davies finished behind Grant.
Davies was also great, she showed her quality but it was not enough to win. She is happy with her performance and this promises that victory could come soon. "I'm really proud of myself," Davies said after a final-round 70. "I dropped a few too many shots to put the pressure I needed to on Liz [Young].
I made birdies on 14 and 15, I thought I was going to chase it to the end, and I knew Linn [Grant] was going to birdie somewhere. I'm really pleased with the week."
