Rogers, Nasa Hataoka defending champion

Everything is ready on the course of the Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers (Arkansas), where the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Presented By P&G, an LPGA Tour tournament, will be staged. A high-level field, with six of the top ten athletes in the order of merit who will participate in the event.

There will also be Giulia Molinaro, who will try to redeem herself after the cut she suffered last week.

The event will be held from 23 to 25 September over a distance of 54 holes and will offer a total prize money of 2,300,000 dollars.

Among the athletes to watch will be Nasa Hataoka, winner last year and number ten in the Rolex Rankings. In addition to the Japanese, there will also be Nelly Korda (Olympic champion in Tokyo and number two in the world rankings), Minjee Lee (second last year and third in the ranking), Lydia Ko (number four), Atthaya Thitikul (number five), Lexi Thompson (number seven).

There are seven tournaments to go until the end of the season and the race for the best player in the Rolex Rankings is still to be decided. However, the leader of the ranking Jin Young Ko will be absent. A great opportunity for Nelly Korda and Minjee Lee to try to close the gap on the Korean, firmly in command since January.

Nasa Hataoka is a Japanese female professional golfer from Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture. She belongs to ABeam Consulting. She started playing golf at the age of 11, influenced by her mother who worked at the Shishido Hills Country Club.

Her name, Nasa, was named after the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), with the hope that she would "do things that no one has done before"[4]. When she was in junior high school, she had the experience of winning the prefectural tournament in track and field (200m run).

In the "Japan Junior Golf Championship" (15-17 year old division) held in August 2014, she overturned 6 shots behind Minami Katsu, who has won the JLPGA Tour in the same grade, on the final day.
