Q School of the DP, 156 players to the finals

Aron Zemmer and Stefano Mazzoli have passed Stage 2 of the Qualifying School of the DP World Tour, held on four Iberian courses, and have been admitted to the final which will take place in Tarragona (Infinitum Golf, Lakes Course), also in Spain, from 11 to November 16.

At the Empordà Golf (par 71) in Girona (71 at the start, 23 qualified) Aron Zemmer, after an excellent race always in the high rankings, obtained the visa for the final finishing sixth with 272 (70 67 70 65, -12 ).

The 32-year-old from Bolzano finished with a 65 (-6, seven birdies, a bogey) climbing from the tenth place where he landed starting from the 19th and passing through the eighth, proving to have a good feeling with Stage 2, because in 2019 he had won one of the four tournaments held at the Club de Golf Bonmont in Tarragona.

First place tied with 267 (-17) for the Swedish Jens Fahrbring (70 67 65 65) and for the English Tom Murray (67 67 67 66) and third with 270 (-14) for the German Philipp Mejow and for the Spanish amateur Luis Masaveu. Out Gregorio De Leo, 25th with 280 (-4), out for a shot, Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli, 33rd with 282 (-2), and the amateur Alessandro Radig, 62nd with 291 (+7) On the Isla Canela Links course (par 72) in Huelva (70 competitors, 23.

qualified) Stefano Mazzoli ranked 14th with 271 (71 69 67 64, -17) thanks to a 64 (-8, nine birdies, a bogey) with which he concluded a great comeback started from 50th place at the start and continued with passes to 44th and 38th.

It should be remembered that Mazzoli, 25 years old from Segrate (MI), has already secured the 'card' for the Challenge Tour 2023 obtained with the fourth position in the money list of the Alps Tour. Two winners also in this case: the Swedish Joel Sjoholm ( 262 - 67 65 66 64, -26) and South African Pieter Moolman (262 - 63 73 63 63) ahead of Japanese Takumi Kanaya (263, -25).

Matteo Manassero remained out, 34th with 276 (-12), Gianmaria Rean Trinchero, 45th with 278 (-10), Filippo Celli, 61st with 284 (-4), and Davide Buchi, 65th with 290 (+ 2). In the final, 156 competitors will compete, including those admitted by right and those coming from Stage 2, who will compete over the distance of 108 holes, with a cut after 72, to win the 'cards' for the DP World Tour 2023.
