Indian Ocean, the first Leadbetter Academy

Golfers on vacation in Mauritius will now be able to stay and improve their game thanks to the opening of the first Golfzon Leadbetter Academy in the Indian Ocean at the Heritage Golf Club, which is part of the World's Top 100 seaside golf resorts.

Founded by David Leadbetter, one of the biggest names in golf and coach of many major tournament winners such as Sir Nick Faldo, Ernie Els and Lydia Ko, the new Golfzon Leadbetter Academy offers everyone – elite players to beginners – the opportunity to improve or learn golf.

The Academy, based on the Le Château course, among the best in the Indian Ocean and host of the AfrAsia Mauritius Open of the DP World Tour, will also offer Leadbetter Kids Golf, allowing children and families to benefit from a world-class golf instruction during their stay.

“Our new Golfzon Leadbetter Academy, the first in Mauritius and the Indian Ocean, once again reinforces Heritage Golf Club's position as one of the most sought-after golfing destinations in the world,” said Jonathan Menteath, Managing Director.

of the Heritage Golf Club. For golfers traveling to Mauritius, including elite players, groups and families, we can now offer world-class instruction, all year round. With a range of 'stay-and-play' packages, including accommodation at our two five-star resorts and luxury villas, we look forward to welcoming all golfers looking to improve or learn to play golf".

As a reminder, the Heritage Golf Club is nestled in the 2,500 hectares of the Bel Ombre estate, along the south coast of Mauritius. It is also home to a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The destination includes two five-star hotels: Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort, recently crowned the best golf hotel in the Indian Ocean, and Heritage Awali Golf & Spa, a family-oriented all-inclusive luxury resort.

You can even rent villas with private pools, nestled in the territory's 2,500 hectares of unspoiled nature. Finally, the second Heritage Golf Club golf course, La Réserve Golf Links (photo below) signed by Louis Oosthuizen and Peter Matkovich will open in December 2023 and will host the Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open. It will make the Heritage Golf Club the only 45-hole golf destination in the Indian Ocean.
