Just twenty-three days after his official farewell to football, Gareth Bale has begun his new golf adventure by participating in his first tournament. But the former Real Madrid and Welsh international star made an unenviable start, finishing in the bunker on the first hole.

Considered one of the best footballers of his generation, grew up in the youth academy of Southampton, a team with which he made his professional debut. With the Welsh national team, of which he is the record holder for appearances and goals, he has participated in two editions of the European championship (2016 and 2020) and one of the world championship (2022). On 2 June 2022, for sporting and humanitarian merits, he was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II as a member of the Order of the British Empire.
