Fred Couples is a person who cannot stand many things and has certain principles that he tries to stick to. Couples often takes this opportunity to call out golfers who have joined LIV Golf. He is especially frustrated by the fact that they try to cover up the real reasons they joined the tour.
One of the targets of his criticism was Sergio Garcia, whom Couples called a "clown" a few days ago. Apparently, the Spaniard didn't take a long time to react to the incident. According to Garcia, such comments are very disappointing, and everyone should take time to come to terms with their own lives.
“It's what it is,” he said for Sports Illustrated. "It's disappointing because I don't know where he's going with this. But it's Freddy so he can say whatever he wants and then we can say whatever we want. I think at the end of the day his life is his life and my life in this case is my life.
So, I don't think he should comment on what me or any of these other guys should have done because we didn't tell him what he had to do. Even if I wasn't [happy with joining LIV], it’s my problem, not his”.
Sergio Garcia and Masters: I'm going to feel fine
Garcia commented on his future appearance at the Masters as well as the Champions Dinner.
He hopes to give his best. Garcia does not expect any conflicts or tensions. "I'm going to feel fine," he said. "I don't have any problems with anyone, and I try not to make a big deal out of it. I'm going to be there because I earned it, because I deserve it, and I'm going to enjoy it. I hope the rest of the guys do the same."
