At The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, where the tickets grounds have sold out (more than 60,000 fans are expected), the 48 players of the Saudi League divided into 12 teams are back on the field. However, on the sidelines of the event, Greg Norman told NCA Newswire that he has a long list of players who have indicated their intention to join LIV Golf.

Greg Norman, statements

"You'd be surprised how famous their names are." We know that there are already other players that we can define as the reserves of the League, ready to replace players who, for whatever reason, cannot take the field.

For example, Captain Martin Kaymer returns to Team Cleeks GC after an injury: he will be replaced by the British Laurie Canter, who has replaced him until now. What would the arrival of other players to swell the ranks of LIV Golf mean? We have already reported the league's development plans for 2024.

Norman reiterated that the solution lies in the establishment of qualification tournaments (relegation series, NDR). "It's an ongoing process. We have many professionals who want to play, but we don't currently have the capacity to accommodate them." The Saudi League CEO also expressed satisfaction with the reception he receives at LIV tournaments.

“I didn't expect such a big rating” “I can't wait for the day when everyone admits that (LIV Golf, NDR) works” “I know that our model is here to stay” “It's not a vengeful attitude or anything like that.

It is my intention to do what is right for the game of golf, for the players and for the fans." Norman also stated that, sooner or later, LIV Golf and the PGA Tour will have to sit around a table to try to heal the rift in the world of professional golf.
