Upon the announcement last year that he would be joining LIV Golf, Bryson DeChambeau surprised many. There have been a variety of reactions to his move, most of which have been negative. It is unclear whether DeChambeau will play in the Ryder Cup, but he does hope that he will get the chance to do so after the merger between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour.

Choosing the best players to represent the US Team will be a difficult task for the captain of the team, Zach Johnson.
“I think [the door] is open a lot more,” -Bryson DeChambeau said, as quoted by golfmonthly.com “I hope that [captain Zach Johnson] picks the best players from the country.

That’s the most important thing is playing for the country”.

Bryson DeChambeau wants to continue his good form

Bryson DeChambeau commented on the game of his colleagues, as well as who could be part of the team.

There is a good chance that Brooks Koepka will be playing with the team in Rome this year. DeChambeau hopes that his form will be satisfactory, considering that it could be his ticket to the Ryder Cup. “I think Brooks [Koepka] is already qualified and I think he’s already on the team,” -DeChambeau continued.

“If my game continues to improve and I play well in another Major and play well in some LIV events, I hope [Johnson] considers some of those guys. It’d be nice to consider me”. There is no doubt that DeChambeau will have to work hard if he wants to impress Johnson with playing the majors, given the fact that the captain of the US Team apparently does not follow the LIV Golf events.

“That’s where it’s on television? I didn’t know that. I do get to see it – I have to ask my kids. I think I get CW,” said Johnson
