According to some polls conducted among American historians and political scientists, Trump would be one of the worst presidents in US history. In November 2022, he announced his candidacy for the Republican primary in the 2024 presidential election.
In March 2023, a Manhattan grand jury indicted him on 34 counts of falsifying business records, and in June, a federal grand jury found him indicted on 37 counts of the theft of presidential documents containing nuclear and top-secret information, which he was supposed to turn over to the National Archives and Records Administration after his presidential term ended on January 20, 2021. Trump is the first former president in American history to be indicted.
