Smith and the entire Australian Ripper GC quartet left nothing to chance at LIV Golf – Bedminster. Last month, in London, Cameron Smith had won the individual title and his team had come within a whisker of forcing a playoff, scoring a victory "half".

Yesterday Smith took down the individual trophy and young Jediah Morgan pulled off the most impressive round of his career on LIV Golf, this led the Rippers to their first team title by an 11-stroke lead, the biggest margin of win this season.

“I won a couple of weeks ago in London and I wasn't happy with the way I won,” Smith said. "I didn't want the same thing to happen today." After starting the day four strokes clear, the Australian champion overcame a shaky start and took the lead with four birdies in five holes midway through his round.

His -3 (68 strokes) had him hit a 12-under par, to win by seven strokes over Crusher GC's Anirban Lahiri. Abraham Ancer, Patrick Reed and Dean Burmester tied for third at -4. Smith's individual margin of victory was the largest in LIV Golf history and surpasses the six-stroke victory achieved by Bryson DeChambeau last week at the Greenbrier.

The Australian winner has also moved up to first place in the individual season standings: with two races remaining in the season, Smith now has a 21-point lead over three-time winner Talor Gooch. In addition to Smith, the Rippers' key contribution was 23-year-old Morgan, who rallied a second-round 78 to make a 66 finish, delivering the lowest score of the day.

“For us it was a team success and we were able to celebrate on the 18th green an individual victory, a team victory, eight happy guys – caddies, teams, everyone – it was so much more. That's what LIV Golf is all about, the team aspect and the fact that we celebrate together,” said Marc Leishman.

From August 11 to 13, the players of the LIV Golf League will play the second consecutive tournament, as well as the 11th tournament of the season. The contest will be played at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in Bedminster in the state of New Jersey in the United States.

As usual, there will be 48 players divided into 12 teams to compete on the course, over a distance of 54 stroke-play holes. The champions will compete for a prize pool of $25,000,000 and the winner of the individual classification will earn $4,000,000, while the members of the winning team will earn $3,000,000.

The tournament can be followed free of charge live and on demand via LIV Golf Plus. LIV Golf Plus is available for download on iOS, Android, FireTV and at
