The DP World Tour has released the calendar for the 2024 season After that of the PGA Tour, another tile goes to make up the mosaic for next season. The DP World Tour has announced its calendar, where some innovations stand out.

Dp, calendar

But let's go step by step. We start from a base of 44 tournaments played in 24 different countries, with a total prize pool of just over €136 million (excluding the Majors, of course). The novelties start from the structure of the calendar, which will be divided into three phases.

1 – Global Swings The first phase will take place from November 2023 to August 2024, and will be divided into five sub-phases: a – Opening Swing (from November to December 2023); b – International Swing (from January 2024 to March 2024); c – Asian Swing (from March 2024 to May 2024); d – European Swing (from May 2024 to July 2024); e – Closing Swing (from July 2024 to August 2024) Each Swing Series will generate an autonomous classification, based on the points accumulated (the points obtained in the Majors will NOT be taken into consideration).

The winner of each Series will collect a bonus of just under €185,000, receive an invitation to one of the subsequent tournaments that are part of the Rolex Series and will qualify, together with the other 9 top performers of the Series, for the events of the next phase.

2 – The Back Nine This second phase, which will take place from August to October, is centered on nine tournaments which include the "historical" tournaments and the Open. In addition to qualified DP World Tour players, the top 15 players in the top 70 ranked FedEx who are not DP World Tour members will be able to participate in this stage.

The top 110 players in the Race to Dubai at the end of this second stage will earn the card for the 2025 season, while the top 70 will progress to the third stage. 3 – DP World Tour Playoffs The third and last phase will take place in the month of November and will be divided into two events.

The Abu Dhabi Championship. which will move from its traditional date of January to November, will serve as a qualifier, carrying the top 50 players in the rankings to the DP World Tour Championship. From November 14th to 17th, the final event of the DP World Tour will crown the winner of Race to Dubai 2024.

The top 10 players in the final standings will share an additional bonus of just over €5,500,000. We see a concrete effort aimed at giving a new look to the ex-European Tour. What is certain is that the sums at stake are lower than what we have seen by analyzing the PGA Tour calendar, but, personally, I believe that in this historical moment nothing different could be expected. Now we are waiting for the last card. The LIV Golf calendar.
