From Djokovic, the most successful in the history of the Grand Slam to Shevchenko. From Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz to Gareth Bale, winner of five Champions Leagues with Real Madrid. And then Leonardo Fioravanti, surfer already qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

At Marco Simone there will also be other sports personalities, including from the Paralympic world, cinema and entertainment.

Everyone on the greens for the All Star Match on Wednesday 27 September at Marco Simone. A show that will see Team Monty, captained by the Scot Colin Montgomerie, and Team Pavin directed by the American Corey Pavin, respectively leading Team Europe and USA at the 2010 Ryder Cup in Wales, compete.

On that occasion the Molinari brothers, Francesco and Edoardo, made their winning debut in the most important golf challenge in the world. In the Celebrity Match, Montgomerie alongside Bale will challenge Pavin and Shevchenko in a doubles match.

Then it will be the turn of YouTuber Garrett Hilbert and Fioravanti to face Newton and Victor Cruz, a former American football player. Match 1 will instead pit Djokovic and Sainz against each other, in tandem respectively with the Paralympic golfers Kipp Popert and Tommaso Perrino, coach of the Federgolf National Paralympic Team.

In the name of the Ryder Cup 2023 Project which sees social inclusion as an essential point of a sport that goes beyond all barriers. Unlike the previous Celebrity Matches, the Italian one will not be an event that will pit Europe and the USA against each other, but champions and personalities who share a great passion for golf.

The competition, named after the trophy donated by Englishman Samuel Ryder (1858–1936) to the American federation in 1924, is co-managed by the European Tour and the PGA of America. From 1927 to 1971 the tournament took place between the selection of the United States and that of Great Britain, with a clear American dominance (15-3) and only one draw.

Ireland was incorporated into Great Britain in 1973 and the rest of continental Europe in 1979. Following the acceptance of the European team as an antagonist of the US team, the tournament was much more balanced: from 1979 to 2018, in fact, there were eleven successes for Europe, eight for the United States and only one draw.
