The course of the Wentworth Club in Surrey, England, is ready to host the BMW PGA Championship this weekend, one of the most prestigious and eagerly awaited tournaments of the DP World Tour season. An event that is part of the Rolex Series circuit and which this year it takes on further value, arriving close to the Ryder Cup in Rome.

In fact, it is no coincidence that all the players selected by Team Europe captain Luke Donald will be present on the first tee on Thursday, to build the necessary confidence to bring the challenge to the USA, as well as obviously looking for a very important success and a very rich prize money.

Among the big favourites, therefore, are the members of the European team, above all Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland and Jon Rahm, the brightest stars on the continental scene. The Northern Irishman won here in 2014, entering a roll of honor which then saw the inclusion of Tyrell Hatton and Shane Lowry last year.

Francesco Molinari was also victorious here in his magical 2018. The Turin native will be one of the three Italians present at Wentworth this week. The other two will be his brother Edoardo, "colleague" in the role of Ryder Cup vice-captain, and Guido Migliozzi, fresh from a good tournament last week in Ireland.

Surrey is a county in south-eastern England, in the South East region bordering the counties of Berkshire, Hampshire, Kent and Greater London, the metropolitan area of London . The county is densely populated and given its proximity to London has a large population of commuters who have chosen it as their residence.

Gatwick Airport, London's second, is located in the south-east of the county. It is home to the University of Surrey and Royal Holloway College, part of the University of London, two of the English universities that in recent years have established themselves in world rankings for quality of education.

The county borders Berkshire to the north-west, Greater London to the north-east. The territory is mainly flat and undulating. To the south rise the North Downs which reach 295 meters in height with Leith Hill. The area north of the Norh Downs is crossed by the Rivers Wey and Mole. Guildford, the historic county town, and Woking to the north of this are located in this central area.
