PGA Tour
The PGA Tour is arguably the most popular men's professional tour. The Professional Golf Association Tour is the organization responsible for the major professional golf tournaments held in North America.

The PGA Tour was born in 1969 and is an organization made up of professional players. Although the United States is its home base, the PGA Tour is open to qualified international golfers from around the world. The PGA Tour offers a series of races with prize money averaging $8.5 million per race.

The PGA oversees all professional tournaments in the United States and Canada. Korn Ferry Tour
The Korn Ferry Tour is the second-tier tour, as if it were “the B Series” of the PGA Tour. It is called a “developmental tour” for professional golfers who have yet to qualify or who have qualified but are struggling to maintain the required levels of the PGA Tour.

Going through the Korn Ferry Tour is the main path for those who want to get their "card" for the PGA Tour. Players who rank in the top 25 of the order of merit at the end of the season gain immediate access to the major Tour for the following season.

PGA Tour Latinoamérica
The PGA Tour Latinoamérica is a third-tier professional golf tour, “a C series” formed in 2012 and operated by the PGA Tour. The top five finishers in the tour's Order of Merit gain entry to the Korn Ferry Tour, while the leader in the standings was completely exempt.

PGA Tour Canada
PGA Tour Canada is one of three international tours sanctioned by the PGA Tour along with PGA Tour Latinoamérica and PGA Tour China. These three circuits are all "series C" and give access to the Korn Ferry Tour.

LIV Golf
This is the newest tour in the world of professional golf which was established in 2022 and financed by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. The LIV Golf Tour has made headlines by spending billions of dollars to attract established champions from the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour.

LIV golf's frontman is Greg Norman. The total prize pool of each LIV event is $25 million. DP World Tour
The PGA European Tour, known as the DP World Tour, is another popular professional golf tour. This is the main professional golf tour in Europe, we can also call it the A series for Europe.

The goal is to organize professional tournaments that offer their members advantageous prizes. Most of the events take place in Western Europe, and the United Kingdom. European Challenge Tour
The European Challenge Tour is "the B series" of the European circuits.

It is the development tour for professional players who aspire to play on the DP World Tour. Each year, only the top 20 golfers on this tour make it to the European senior level. Alps Tour
The Alps Tour is an association founded in 2001 by four countries: Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland, with the aim of offering the best and most talented young professionals in Europe the opportunity to gain experience in professional tournaments .

As a European satellite “D” tour, the Alps Tour represents a milestone between amateur golf and the European Tour. It was created to give young professionals the opportunity to play and earn a category on the European Challenge Tour , as well as exemption from Stage 1 of the European Tour Qualifying School.

Female
LPGA Tour
The Ladies Professional Golf Association, also commonly known as the "LPGA", is the largest women's professional golf organization in the world, the top tier of all. It is the most profitable professional tour for female golfers.

The LPGA Tour consists primarily of tournaments held in the United States, with major championships hosted annually. The five major annual Majors include the U.S. Women's Open, the Chevron Championship, the Women's PGA Championship, the Women's British Open and the Evian Championship.

Golfers on other women's tours struggle to get a card and compete on the LPGA Tour. Epson Tour
The Epson Tour is the predecessor of the LPGA, as the Korn Ferry Tour is to the PGA Tour. It is also called the “Road to the LPGA” and is for newly professional players or for established professionals who are trying to find their way back.

category on the major circuit. The Epson Tour allows the top players on the money list to become members of the LPGA with full eligibility for the following season. Ladies European Tour
The Ladies European Tour is a women's professional golf tournament founded in 1978.

It is the highest European circuit, it is like the DP World Tour for men. Most of the players on the tour are European, but members come from over 40 countries. The tour organizes tournaments on five continents. The company that operates the LET (Ladies European Tour), is a joint venture collaboration between the Ladies European Tour and the Ladies Professional Golf Association, which began on 8 January 2020 and was established to increase playing opportunities for female golfers in Europe.

LET Access Series
The LET Access Series (LETAS) is the B series for female players on European soil. The circuit was created in 2010 and offers players the opportunity to compete and progress towards the LET. All professional and amateur golfers over the age of 18 with a handicap of 2 or higher can participate.

As you have seen, there are many circuits, but there are others, for example in Asia, South America, etc. For the main tours there is a Qualifying School. The Qualifying School is made up of one or more tournaments in which a fixed number of players participate. The Qualifying School allows you to obtain "the card" to be able to play on the desired tour.
