The Eternal City for an eternal challenge. Rome is the ideal stage for the 44th edition of the golf Ryder Cup, the first ever in Italy and the third in continental Europe. A historic event, right where history was truly made: at the Marco Simone Golf Club there will be seven world number ones and all the top 12 players in the ranking.

Europe and the USA compete for the Ryder Cup: let's discover the odds on the main betting sites.

Ryder Cup, bookies

In the last edition, played at Whistling Straits in 2021, the USA triumphed 19-9, inflicting the worst defeat ever on Europe, also emphasized by Mcllroy's tears.

Overall, the United States has won 28 of the 43 previous editions, leaving their opponents with just 15 successes. It is useful to remember that, unlike other tournaments, the Ryder Cup is played match play: that is, two players who are direct opponents compete and each hole is a story in itself.

Therefore, all the shots taken are not counted overall, but each hole is worth one point: whoever wins the most holes wins the match. For the bookies it will be a challenge characterized by balance, with the USA slightly favored by the previous ones: the victory of Zach Johnson and his companions is on the board at 1.70 on Better, 1.90 on Gazzabet, 1.95 on Goldbet and 2.00 on Sisal.

The winning Europe is played at 2.15 on Gazzabet, 2.05 on Better and 2.00 on Sisal and Goldbet, a sign that the Marco Simone challenge still promises to be balanced. Everyone will be there in this Ryder Cup: just think that 15 of the top 16 players in the world will compete on the green of Rome.

The only (justified) absentee is number 13 Cameron Smith: he is Australian and therefore cannot be recruited. Among the candidates for best player of the tournament are Rory Mcllroy, Jon Rahm and obviously Scottie Scheffler.

The current world number 1 is on the board as best player at 9.00 on Sisal, 8.00 on Gazzabet and 8.50 on Goldbet and Better. The share of Rahm and Mcllroy instead rises to 9.50 on Sisal, 10.00 on Gazzabet and 9.00 on Goldbet and Better.

The Ryder Cup, officially known as The Ryder Cup Matches, is a golf tournament that has been played every two years since 1927,[Note 1] between a selection of American players and a selection of European players.
