The 2022-23 DP World Tour season is coming to an end (only three tournaments left) but we must already think about the next one which will start on November 23 in South Africa and Australia. Among the first stages of this new calendar, we must remember that of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open which will be played from December 14 to 17 on a new course, La Réserve Golf Links.

A course designed by Peter Matkovich and the winner of The Open 2010 at St Andrews, Louis Oosthuizen. This will also be at the start of this 7th edition, co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour, the very competitive South African professional circuit.

The defending champion, Frenchman Antoine Rozner, and German Marcel Siem, ambassador of Heritage Golf Club, were also present.

Louis Oosthuizen, statements

“I am very excited to participate again in the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open,” said Louis Oosthuizen, now a member of LIV Golf.

Mauritius is a wonderful destination, which I am looking forward to visiting with my whole family. I am also looking forward to competing alongside international quality professionals on the La Réserve Golf Links course and seeing how it performs.

» “This is one of the first golf courses that I designed in partnership with Peter Matkovich and I am very proud of what we have achieved,” continues the South African golfer who finished 7th in the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in 2017 (counting for the 2017-18 season).

The site appealed to me from the first time I saw it and I had no doubt that we could create something special there. » La Réserve Golf Links is the first and only contemporary links in the Indian Ocean and the latest addition to Heritage Resorts' golf courses, the opening of which was eagerly awaited.

This route significantly complements the premier experience available in the south of Mauritius and at the famous Domaine de Bel Ombre. Remember that Le Château Golf Course, Heritage Golf Club's internationally renowned course, had already hosted the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open three times (2015, 18 and 20).
