Rory McIlroy commits to brand new DP World Tour event

Rory McIlroy has decided to kick off his 2024 season by participating in the first-ever Dubai Invitational on the DP World Tour. The Northern Irishman is excited to start next year playing in Dubai. Dubai is a city he always likes to visit.

“I’m really excited to start my year at the Dubai Invitational. I’ve always enjoyed coming back to Dubai to set up my season, and with a pro-am format, this tournament is going to be an enjoyable week."- McIlroy said.

McIlroy is satisfied with the course he will play on. In addition, he is optimistic about the fans in Dubai who are always there to support their favorite golfers. “Dubai Creek Resort is a fantastic course, and given the support we get in Dubai from the fans, I’m sure they are going to make it another great week on the golfing calendar”.

Tournament host reacts to Rory's arrival

Tournament host Abdulla Al Naboodah expressed his delight at having a prominent figure like Rory McIlroy participating in the tournament. Al Naboodah also highlighted the role of the United Arab Emirates in promoting and supporting golf.
