This cap may well overshadow you... And that's quite normal, you would tell us, it's still part of its basic functions. The difference is that it could well eclipse your most questionable shots on the course, to highlight your appearance.

My Bunker Shot, news

From now on, each of your bunker exits will be done in style, in the box (we hope, often) or with the “My Bunker Shot” cap screwed on your head. In any case, this is the ambition of François Pautrec, creator of the brand that he has been growing for almost two years at his home in Evian (74).

It all started with a weekend of golf with friends on the colorful fairways of his native Brittany: “The Breizh Cup was a competition that we played between us. For a friend's 60th birthday in 2022, I decided to bring out caps with the "My Bunker Shot" logo because he has a bit of trouble exiting bunkers.

» In a world of sanitized golf headgear, with a very monochrome palette, the colorful models from the Made in France brand quickly met with notable interest. After this famous weekend with friends, and after several tests in the weeks that followed, the brand “My Bunker Shot” was born, with the principle “the desire for something new, a little more lifestyle side.

More fun and younger than what we currently have,” explains the designer. Some models are transformed into series of a dozen copies. That year, the rich calendar of the professional golf season gave this little white ball enthusiast the opportunity to expose them to a wider audience: “There was the week in Evian of course for the tournament Major, I am also a commissioner for the Omega European Masters, in Switzerland.

And I was also lucky enough to be able to go to the 150th The Open in history at St Andrews. » “Except that by the end of The Evian Championship, I had already sold everything. Every time I produced, it went away.

So much so that I found myself at the Evian pro-shop in September. That’s when I decided to professionalize everything, by producing a little more, and above all I wanted to come up with quality products. » Between Switzerland and France, the brand is growing a little more by integrating the pro-shops of several renowned golf courses such as Medoc or Crans-sur-Sierre.

“It’s great to see the people on the fairways with my cap. I play quite a bit – it happened to me again last week in Crans-Montana – so it also gives me the opportunity to chat with people. It's very nice.

» From these exchanges, the founder of the brand nourishes his creativity. From now on, certain models become successes in their own right, thanks to their design, itself inspired by a story: “All the caps that I create are based on one of my experiences, or situations that I have could live.

It could be a legendary hole that I had the chance to see or a significant edition like that of Carnoustie in 1999, Jean Van de Velde in particular. There is a story behind every design. » In preparation for the new collections to come, a line inspired by the best players in the world: “There will be a Nick cap for Nick Faldo, a GOAT for Tiger Woods, a Tony for Finau… I am still working on all of this, particularly on the differences between the materials to make everything truly unique.

» So if you want to wear a “My Bunker Shot” cap on your best golf shots, it will still cost you €39 each. Bringing in your most beautiful strings in style therefore has a price, which you can find here on the brand's website.
