The American golfer Tiger Woods, winner of 15 'majors', is part of a group of investors who acquired the Jupiter Links Golf Club, the sixth and last team of the new virtual golf league TGL, of which he is one of the promoters together to Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy.

Tiger, who last season only played the Genesis Invitational and the Augusta Masters, is also the first player confirmed as a member of the team, reported the TGL. Also in the group of investors is businessman David Blitzer, whose portfolio includes the Spanish football club Alcorcón.
The new league will not have the Spanish Jon Rahm for its first edition, who announced his resignation last week after not being able to dedicate the "necessary commitment" to him, despite considering it a great opportunity.
The TGL, which has, in addition to Tiger and McIlroy, Collin Morikawa or Justin Thomas, will begin on January 9, and includes a regular season with 15 qualifying matches for a final that will pit the two best teams against each other, in the best of three matches.
It is a virtual golf league, in which six teams participate, each with three players (there are four, but one rests each week). It will be played in a stadium, the SoFi Center (Palm Beach State College, Florida) with the presence of an audience, and each player will shoot at a large screen with simulation, which will record the supposed path of the ball.
The format of the matches includes 15 holes, nine of them 'alternating shots' (three against three) and six individual holes 'one against one' with each player playing two. One point will be awarded for a hole won and none for a tied hole.
Each team will earn 2 units per final victory. The best four of the six teams will go to the playoffs, with direct elimination semi-finals. The winners will play in the final. Eldrick Tont Woods, better known as Tiger Woods, born December 30, 1975 in Cypress (California), is an American golfer.
Considered one of the greatest golfers of all time, he is one of the most popular athletes of the early 21st century. Winner of 15 major tournaments, he revolutionized the world of golf with his sporting results and by attracting a new audience.
