Lilia Vu secured her fourth LPGA Tour win of the season at The Annika Driven by Gainbridge, reclaiming the World No.1 spot. Starting three shots behind, she clinched victory by maintaining the three-shot margin, with Allison Lee and Azahara Munoz finishing in second place.

Vu's victory, marked by a four-under 66 in the final round, propels her back to the top of the Rolex Rankings and strengthens her bid for LPGA Tour player of the year. This win, combined with previous triumphs, positions Vu as a frontrunner in the points-based player of the year race, now 27 points ahead of Celine Boutier.

Although Vu understood this challenge as a battle, which in the end turned out to be so, she tried to be positive and fight until the very end. Her caddy had a huge impact on changing the flow of her game and realizing that she had the capacity to achieve a good score.

Vu is a golfer who sometimes you have to motivate because her quality has long been confirmed.
“I think like each win of mine has had its own battle, and I think today was again myself. The wheels were kind of falling off a little bit on the back nine, then (caddie Cole Pensanti) just said, ‘hey, just play your game and one shot at a time and we can make any putt from anywhere’, so just kept that positive mindset up.

"- Vu said.

Lilia Vu flipped her mindset: I was getting negative

We have emphasized many times how important mentality is in the world of sports, especially in golf. Then when you focus on the positives and ignore all the negatives, there is a huge chance that your results will be better.

“I think that flipped my mindset. I was getting negative and then just flipped a switch and just thought positive thoughts, and then it just all worked itself out”. - she concluded. Source: Golfmonthly
