"Accident" on the green for Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz who in Las Vegas, paired with Justin Thomas, won the golf Netflix Cup, but then broke the trophy during the celebrations. Joys and sorrows for the Ferrari driver, amidst the general laughter of everyone present, who even before raising the trophy to the sky saw it fall into his arms.

Hands on the head as a sign of regret for Sainz who in the final, in tandem with the former world number 1 on the green, the American Thomas, managed to defeat Pierre Gasly and Tony Finau.

The destroyed trophy was a reminder of what happened to Lando Norris, also among the participants of the Netflix Cup, last July at the end of the Hungarian GP when, on the podium, after the second place achieved, he broke that of the winner Max Verstappen to uncork a bottle of champagne and kick off the celebrations.

Sainz is in Las Vegas ahead of the penultimate grand prix of the Formula 1 season, scheduled for Sunday on a street circuit in the world's gambling capital. He is the son of the driver, twice winner of the world rally championship and three times of the Dakar Rally, Carlos Sainz.[3] Despite his famous father figure, Sainz Jr.'

s motoring passion was directed towards Formula 1 rather than dirt tracks, thanks to his debut in karting and above all to his youthful support for his compatriot Fernando Alonso, who he then found again as an opponent once he landed in circus.

His race number is 55, initially "a fallback choice" since in 2015, on his debut in Formula 1, he found both his favorite number, 19, used by Felipe Massa, and his second choice unavailable, the 5, used by Sebastian Vettel: he therefore favored doubling the latter, also due to the graphic assonance with the double S which, respectively, closes his name and opens his surname (Carlo55ainz).

A great sports enthusiast, he regularly plays golf and tennis; in the latter sport he has his compatriot Rafael Nadal as his idol. Furthermore, he is also passionate about football and a Real Madrid fan.
